ESF Introduces a New Summer Tradition...The Gratitude Rock

The ESF Gratitude Rock is a new ESF tradition that began this past summer. We encouraged our campers to catch someone doing something special and let them know that it was noticed! Every Group, Team and Tribe has the opportunity to receive a special Gratitude Rock. The Rock is then circulated amongst campers and Team members throughout the summer.

Every day during morning assembly, a camper or Team member will be given a Gratitude Rock from the previous day’s recipient. The Gratitude Rock must never leave camp, but remain safely in the camp office overnight. The recipient cannot receive it more then once per week- but that should never stop someone from performing an act of kindness.

We want to encourage our campers and Team members to be aware of everyday acts of kindness and the importance of recognizing and appreciating others’ kindheartedness.
