Turkey Bowl XI
The rain and wind provided rough conditions but could not keep over 100 ESF Team Members off the field for the 11th annual ESF Turkey Bowl Team Reunion! Team members from all ESF and PBA Sites assembled for the yearly tradition of friendship, fun, and light hearted competition. Throughout the day, all six evenly-matched teams battled the elements trying to be crowned the Turkey Bowl Champion! At the end of the day, only one team emerged as the champion – Trish Klaudi ’s Red Team! [more]

2007 Ichiban and Master Teacher Award Winners
The Japanese word “Ichiban” translates to “number one” or “the best.” Those receiving this award are being recognized for consistently excelling and going above and beyond the call of duty in many areas. The Ichiban Award is considered the finest achievement for a counselor, coach, group specialist, nurse, administrative specialist, support specialist, aquatics instructor, or production assistant. Each Site recognizes one Ichiban winner each summer.[more]

ESF Dream Camp Mentors Make a Difference!
The ESF Dream Camp After-School Program kicked off on Wednesday, October 3, 2007. The program serves 200 children from low-income families in Philadelphia, PA and Hartford, CT. Like ESF, the After-School Program is staffed by an elite group of individuals committed to making a difference in the lives of others. Each mentor is responsible for a group of 3-4 children and provides his or her students with academic support through homework help and tutoring.

Young Leaders Program Develops Thoughtful and Committed Citizens
The Young Leaders Program (YLP) is offered to a select group of nominated ESF alumni campers. The program is geared toward preparing high school students to be future leaders. It also provides a pathway for ESF alumni campers to transition into the role of an ESF Team member through an innovative and interactive program, focusing on both personal and professional development. ESF Continues Its Partnership with St. Joseph's University
ESF and St. Joseph’s University agreed to continue to join forces to bring ESF Team members an exclusive opportunity to participate in a one-of-a-kind Master’s Program. The Educational Leadership Program prepares ESF Team members for leadership roles in schools as well as non-traditional and alternative educational institutions. Hands-on leadership opportunities at camp afford Team members graduate credits, classroom dialogue, and intensive exploration of educational theory. [more]

A Special Camper Reunion at Citizens Bank Park featured a Phillies Game and a pre-game, on-field championship lap by all campers in honor of their participation in the 2007 Phillies Baseball Academy. Campers from all fourteen Academy locations were invited to attend on two separate dates. [more]
